GreeneTogether...   The Greene community is a great place to live.  While the origins of the GreeneTogether initiative were developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic shut-down, our community recognized that there is a lot to celebrate in our own back yard.   GreeneTogether is not just a campaign for buy local, community spirit, eCommerce, or activities awareness, nor is it just an enhance your quality of life campaign . . . , it is ALL of these things.  Our variety of restaurants, bustling community calendar, Greene Farmers Market, Greene Commons outdoor event center, and unique shopping as well as our wonderful schools, active non-profits, national treasure park, vineyards, and more, provide our residents with countless opportunities to participate in building and growing community.  It can ALL be found here . . . what are you going to do today to be a part of GreeneTogether?
Greene County Economic Development & Tourism is a department of Greene County government.  The director promotes Greene County as a rising center for commercial and light industrial development and is available to assist you in starting, growing, or relocating a business in Greene.  The department also operates a State certified Visitor Center in Ruckersville and maintains a community calendar providing a wide range of events and activities occurring throughout the county.  

Tourism Council: The Tourism Council is comprised of individuals who own or operate local tourism industry organizations, including lodging properties and advises the County on how to spend the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) received from short term lodging establishments. Per VA state code, TOT is designated and spent solely for tourism

The Economic Development Authority (EDA) is made up of a board of seven directors appointed by the Greene County Board of Supervisors. The objectives of the EDA are to issue bonds for the purpose of carrying out the economic development of the community, to manage the affairs of the Greene County industrial Park, to establish and manage a revolving loan fund, and to support the Economic Development Director when requested.  

All activities of the EDA are aimed at enhancing the image of Greene County as a business friendly community with an educated workforce that is eager to participate in the growth of our local economy.
